There aren’t many near the Holland America Cruise Terminal at Pier 91 compared to downtown, at Pier 66. However, it’s less than a 10-minute drive from downtown to pier 91.

Most of these hotels also provide transfer to the port (paid) which can take the hassle off of arranging transportation. Many of them allow leaving the car at the hotel for a fee if you are planning to arrive by your own vehicle.

It’s a wise option though for Holland America cruise passengers to arrive at least a day early and check in to one of the many hotels to avoid last-minute delays and complications.

The Seattle Tacoma Airport – SeaTac (SEA) is the closest airport to the Holland America Terminal, with a distance of 18 miles, and would take approximately 30-40 minutes to reach the pier. 

Holland America cruise lines provide transfer from the airport, but it would be on the day of embarkation. It’s ideal to arrive at least a day early to acclimate to the place.

Embarkation and Debarkation at the Seattle Port Cruise Terminal

The Seattle Port Cruise Terminal’s embarkation and disembarkation procedures are made to be as quick and easy as feasible. You will have to check in at the terminal and show your passport and cruise documents. To allow for the check-in process, Holland America advises arriving at the terminal at least two hours before your scheduled departure time.

After checking in, you’ll be told to proceed to the security checkpoint, where your belongings will be examined and you’ll undergo a security check. You’ll move on to the boarding area after passing the security checkpoint and wait there until your party is summoned to board the ship.

You will follow the same procedure in reverse when you go back to the terminal after your voyage. Before you can get your luggage and depart the terminal, you must disembark the ship and pass through immigration and customs. The debarkation procedure should be given at least 90 minutes, according to Holland America.
